A Brief Moment in Time

On a small blue world located in an arm of the Milky Way galaxy, something astounding is happening. After four billions of years of biological evolution, human beings have conjured up something quite unexpected.  It is a new form of artificial life unlike anything before it. It is not corporeal. It does not age or die, require sleep or get sick. It is not made of flesh and blood or muscle. With apparently unlimited capabilities, it promises to be the smartest and most adaptable life form to ever exist on Earth.
