The Galapagos: “Sea Lions, Turtles, and Blue-Footed Boobies, Oh My!”

Come learn about the Enchanted Isles as Vince shares photos, videos and amazing stories about his wildlife encounters. The animals have no fear of humans allowing up close interactions beyond belief. For Vince, this trip truly brought to life the quote by Anthony Douglas Williams, “When I look into the eyes of an animal, I do not see an animal. I see a living being. I see a friend. I feel a soul.” Come to this class to learn about, as well as be moved by, the beautiful creatures we are privileged to share this earth with.

Vince Burks worked for Amica Insurance for over 37 years holding various positions including Director of Training and Communications Director. A trip to the Galapagos has been on his bucket list for a long time, and he finally checked it off this summer. Vince holds a B.A. in Communications with a minor in Business Administration from Lynchburg University. He is a member of the National Speakers Association and an active participant in The Moth Storytelling events, which you may be familiar with if you’re a fan of NPR.
