Description
It seems as if Mozart in “Amadeus” and the astronauts in “The Right Stuff” have nothing in common, except a place in history. Yet both movies show the sacrifices, the triumphs, and the psychological toll of extreme talents. Come hear background information before we watch each movie, with a break for light refreshments, and then discuss our reactions and thoughts.
Instructor Biography
Lynda Tisdell, a former high school English teacher, saw Peter Pan at the age of six and has never forgotten it. Passionate about movies, she has studied them, endlessly discussed them, and dreamed about them. She has previously taught many movie courses, recently “Great Movies: Comedy Classics,” “Great Movies: Standing for Principles,” “Broadway and Hollywood: Backstage Stories,” as well as many others.
