Norman Rockwell Remembered
Description
Painter and illustrator Norman Rockwell created more than 4,000 original pieces of artwork, as well as illustrations for 40 books. His works reflect American life and people, as showcased in his paintings that graced The Saturday Evening Post for many years. In his later years, Rockwell produced a series of paintings on racism for Look magazine.
This seminar offers an opportunity to experience many beloved images by Rockwell, to hear the stories behind his choices and inspirations and to learn more about the way he worked. Discover how clever and surprisingly complex many of his paintings are, and come away with a renewed appreciation of Rockwell's contribution to the history of American art.
Instructor Biography
Jill Sanford holds a bachelor of arts degree in art history from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. After an early background in arts administration and graphic design, she now has more than 20 years of experience presenting art enrichment, with a passion for making art history and art appreciation enjoyable and accessible for people of all ages and backgrounds. She is the creator and primary presenter for Art for Your Mind, LLC.
